Ingredients

  • 2x 400 g tins Canned tomatoes
  • 1 Brown onion
  • 75 g Butter

This is essentially Marcella Hazan’s infamous tomato sauce from her book “Essentials of Classic Italian Cooking”.

Instructions

  1. Skin and halve 1 onion.
  2. Add onion halves and 75 g butter to a saucepan along with 2x 400 g tins of tomatoes.
  3. Simmer for 45 minutes.
  4. Remove onion and serve with spaghetti.
